About the Project

CLICK HERE to access the video. This is a group project using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro. Because the rest of my group struggled to used Adobe After Effects, I decided to step up by doing the Adobe After Effects part of the project while my group does the video editing on Premiere Pro and some After Effects elements that feel necessary. For the After Effects portion, we needed to add a change to the audio and visuals of a clip. I suggested to start the video with a real clip of an older documentary showing the brilliance and intelligence of AI. As the video progressed, the audio and visuals became intentionally distorted until it reaches a peak, glitches, then ends to transition the Matrix trailer. I added audio and visual elements that slowly increased with time to add a smooth regression of the clip. Furthermore, by adding voice distortions by messing with audio keys and added blurry visuals, it feels like the clip is glitching not by human actions. My group suggested the Matrix trailer as a fun nod to a classic that fit our theme response. After the Matrix trailer, the video glitches back to the AI documentary clip. But there is a spotlight on the AI and the narrator states that AI is smart, but it will never replace human skill; an ironic ending statement to how AI is being used today and the previous clip. I added the ending clip and the spotlight to visually convey a strong ending statement. The whole video shows how AI was seen as revolutionary and can solve problems faster than people, but that intelligence is backfiring as it causes negative effects on society and a prediction that AI will control the world with an ironic statement from the past stating that AI will never be superior to human intelligence.
